It is a cozy little café once you step in, but sit by their glass-panelled windows overlooking a beautiful verandah decked up with plants and green soothing sight of those shrubs of green leaves and flowers hanging down will relax and calm you. It'll surely cheer you up and put you in a good mood instantly. Once the good weather days return to Dubai, we promise the outside tables will be the first choice to get seated as the setting is so pleasing to the eyes.
There is great attention to detail in everything…starting from the graffiti wall overlooking the kitchen, to beautiful teapots with jasmine green tea, to spice columns under a glass-paneled table to cutlery served in cute sack pouches to your drink garnished with an orange peel having a ‘Socialicious’ stamp and a smile on…everything is so eye-catchy and instagram-worthy.
Coming to the food, be ready to be blown away by a contemporary take on authentic Asian cuisine. They have some of the most popular dishes from Thai cuisine, Balinese food and more.
We were welcomed with Granny Smith and Spear Mint Cooler - a bright green cocktail of green apple and mint which was a much needed cooler to sip on as we stepped indoors from a hot summer day.
Just as we gulped it down, a refreshing Raw Papaya Salad came in. Grated raw papaya tossed in a tangy spicy sauce tasted well with the camaraderie of crunchy lotus stem, and roasted peanuts.
Starters were a delightful surprise. We loved all of them! Balinese Chicken Skewers are hugely satisfying. Think about grilled chicken pieces on a stick, marinated in a spicy blend, perfectly charred and served with a creamy peanut dip. They were deliciously done.
Topping our favorite list of foods to eat here are the Thai Smoked Corn Cakes. Don’t be fooled by the name, it is a savoury crispy snack and one that will disappear quickly from the table. A must have dish when you are at Socialicious!
We tried the Singaporean Laksa – a thick creamy coconut soup with noodles and vegetables. If coconut curries are what you long for, you are going to love this spicy soupy delight.
Tori Katsu curry included chicken with coconut sauce (which we think could have been spicier) and loads of veggies served along with rice.
When you are at a place that does their starters and main course so well, you don’t have second thoughts about ordering the dessert. You’re sure in for a treat at Socialicious when you dig into your dessert. The presentation is gorgeous and so is the taste. Our heart was won over by the Mango Passion Crème – a mango pudding with sago porridge and the Baked Yoghurt – a not so sweet dessert but totally delicious with the natural sweetness of the pomegranate, kiwi and other fruits.
Over all, a cute place to get-together with friends over great food served in a cozy setting. And did we mention, it is pet-friendly? So take your furry friends along and they will be welcomed with open arms.
